Help us celebrate CHRISmas and raise money for Macmillan

Regular followers of Skiddle will know that we’ve been struck by tragedy recently, with the frankly awful development of cancer in one of our team members, Chris Glaba. He lost his brave fight with the disease earlier this month, making our commitment to raise £100k for Macmillan Cancer Support, which we plan to do by the end of 2017, even more poignant.

We’ ve got a lot of things planned in the future to help the charity fight against this horrible disease, the first of which is a set of uniquely designed CHRISmas cards. The idea came about when we spoke with Dave Sedgwick from the design firm Studio DBD, the company have been responsible for our visual identity over the last couple of years. He then got in touch with a handful of designers and illustrators with a brief to loosely theme the designs around the music of Christmas, who kindly donated their designs for free.

In total 10 different designs have all been created, with work from Lundgren & Lindqvist, Querida, Superfried, Stan Chow, Lee Goater, Eve Warren, Nick Deakin, Si Scott and Build joining DBD in creating a design. The cards feature information about each designer and the approach behind the design, alongside a message detailing the reasoning behind the initiative.

If you’re looking to offer a different message this Christmas to your friends and loved ones, then this is perfect. They retail at £5 for 10 cards (one of each design), with all profits going directly to Macmillan, and are available from Big Cartel now. You can also donate directly to the cause via our Just Giving page.
