Do you love music?
Have you got industry connections and feel you can harness them, helping sell the benefit of our company to a litany of event promoters in the UK and beyond? If so we could be looking for you, a Business Development Manager for one of the UK’s biggest and renowned primary ticketing agencies.
Trading since 2001, Skiddle sell tickets for tens of thousands of events throughout the UK, from independent club nights through to 60,000 capacity festivals. Skiddle currently sells tickets
for the likes of The Warehouse Project, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Live Nation and hundreds of independent venues and promoters across the country. With over 10 million page impressions per month, you will be representing the busiest event ticketing website in the UK. Likewise we host the largest festival guide in Europe.
You’ll understand the music climate inside out, either a rabid festival-goer, dance music enthusiast or someone gluttonous for gigs, and be capable of translating that passion into a business benefit. It’s desirable that you’ll come from a similar role in the industry, but not essential. This is a tremendous opportunity for a music professional to continue working in one of the most exciting industries in the modern job climate.
You’ll be based in our new open plan office in Lancashire but frequently travelling across the country and working from home, alongside occasional weekend work at events. Your day to day work will involve meeting music promoters, and convincing them to come on board with one of the most rapidly growing and dynamic businesses in the music industry. You’ll be spotting new trends in music and helping develop Skiddle’s market share, and working side by side with other Skiddle employees to harness the best from the company’s promotional strategies.
This is largely a role where you will be spending a lot of time in meetings, visiting clients and working at events – so you need to have the gift of the gab and be comfortable meeting new people from the music industry. The role is mainly Monday to Friday, however, when a deadline is looming, an event needs attending or a large account needs attention you’ll be expected to put the extra
hours in to ensure success. The role is very sociable and involves a fair amount of hospitality and making clients feel valued by the continuing use of Skiddle.
