Having enjoyed working closely with Radio 1 twice before – last year in Norwich as part of the station’s academy programme and again in October with Radio 1xtra’s Academy in Bradford, it’s with great pleasure we’re once again teaming up with the nation’s leading music radio station in Exeter, Devon between 17th-21st May.

Having started in Hackney back in 2012, the Radio 1 Academy has been hosting week long sessions designed to fuel those looking to embark on creative careers, giving them all the tools they’ll need to make progress within this sector.

The upcoming event will include ‘a series of special events, local engagement and face-to-face activity themed around creativity which begins in Teignbridge in April and culminates in Exeter in May with a week of radio shows, gigs, practical workshops and Q&As.’ This year will see additional appearances from the likes of AlunaGeorge, Tinie Tempah, Tom Odell, Jake Bugg and Roni Size to name just a few.

As with the Brighton Music Conference, Skiddle will be handling all ticketing, including the entry system. Ahead of the main event, we built a white label ticket shop for Radio 1, a ticketing solution that’s embedded in their website – view that here.

With the Academy having so many different themes, talks and mini events taking place at the same time, we’ve filtered tickets into easy to digest categories – Music, TV and Film, Radio, Careers, Business and Social Media, so browsing can be done by the customer with far greater ease.

Tickets are all on our RapidScan system so customers receive them instantly in their inbox after purchase. Our ticket box entry system will be in full effect once again, with each Radio 1 team member using tablets to give entry to each attendee. As mentioned, with the vast amount of seminars, workshops, live sets and Q&As on the go, it’s important to keep track of numbers, and thanks to our system updating with each entry, knowing how many people have entered the venue at any given moment has never been simpler.
