We have a very exciting announcement! This year, we will be partnering with and supporting SONDER Festival, taking place in Manchester between 27-30 September.

The grassroots music and arts festival is designed to showcase up-and-coming bands and offer music fans an affordable and inclusive live experience. This festival – which has seen attendance double every year since 2016 – will see over 100 bands, artists, poets and comedians perform across some of Manchester’s best venues; including The Bread Shed, Night People, Joshua Brookes, Zombie Shack, FACTORY, Sandbar and Dance House Theatre.

The festival will bring together creative talent from across the North West and beyond as well as supporting causes such as Future Perfect, The Christies and White Ribbon. SONDER also boast a 40% female line-up.

We decided to partner with SONDER because we share an ethos of supporting up-and-coming talent, protecting grassroots music venues and offering gig-goers an authentic, affordable live experience.

Without support from Manchester’s creative industry and community, Skiddle would never have grown to become the organisation it is today and we are hugely looking forward to helping showcase some amazing talent and offering North West gig-goers four days of raw and unapologetic live music in some of the UK’s most iconic music venues.

Kelvin Leigh, Co-Founder of SONDER Festival, said:

“Without the support of the team at Skiddle, SONDER would not be able to continue to grow and challenge the status quo when it comes to bands, artists and poets being booked for festivals. Our ethos from the very start of SONDER Festival has been that it does not matter how large or small an artist’s fan base is; what matters is how good their music and talent is. We are delighted that Skiddle believe in supporting Manchester’s independent scene as much as we do and have joined us as a main festival partner for this year.”
