If you’re looking to publish your event, you want the most cost-effective method to list your events for free. Luckily, there are quite a few places where it is possible to post news of your event, which can give you so much more visibility and help to generate conversation and excitement. We’ve put together a list of five great places where to post events for free.

Find a free ticketing platform

There are plenty of free ticketing platforms that allow you to list your events for free, you should consider which sites have the best reach and tools available to support your event. Having your event tickets on a recognisable platform will get them noticed and will give the customer peace of mind when booking.

Social media

Social media has become the new word of mouth and there’s no better place to post your event. Creating pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and more is hugely beneficial. The more coverage you have of your event the better and each social media platform has a different tone of voice but getting your name across with great content can really get you noticed. Facebook groups & event pages

Facebook is a particularly useful social media platform and its events pages have been proven to be a highly engaging form of promoting your event. It creates a landing page on Facebook where you can put in all the relevant information and people can either click that they are going or are interested in attending. This then shows up on their friends feeds where they too may be interested. There is also a dedicated discussion section where attendees can talk to each other.

Find relevant Facebook groups relating to your event and providing it’s within the group rules, you can post your event to a niche audience more likely to engage with your content. It’s important to strike the right balance and not spam the same group multiple times, but only post when it is genuinely interesting content for the audience.

Your own website

Having your own website is an opportunity to give customers a go-to place for all information regarding your event. It needs to contain everything from line-ups to car parking and what food and drink will be on offer. The better the layout of your site is the better, think eye-catching and accessible.

Alongside this, it’s important that your event artwork is in-line with your brand image as well as being eye catching. We’ve got some top event flyer hacks from Skiddle’s own graphic designer if you’re stuck for inspo.

Brand partnerships

Brand partnerships can really elevate your reach as it taps into new audiences your brand hasn’t tapped into already. If you are able to find a brand that is suited to your target demographic, then it is more likely that they will be willing to work with you. Brands usually have huge followings or manage to capture niche markets that you’re looking to tap into. Working with brands to promote your event on socials will improve your reach dramatically and develop a fan following in the long-term.
