So it’s 2014 and what a year it’s been for Skiddle. Over the last twelve months we’ve seen massive growth and we’re pleased to have worked so closely with such a diverse range of events, being instrumental in the development of a good number of event organisations, whilst being able to continue to give loads back to the sector as a whole.

Growing to support you

In 2013 we expanded the company to include more account managers, more customer service support and more marketing support, matching the growth we’ve experienced with the kind of support you and your customers have come to expect from Skiddle.

Stats from 2013

  • 10 million people used Skiddle.com
  • 15 million visits
  • 40% increase in events listed
  • 66% increase in events with tickets onsale
  • Top 500 website in UK (see table below)
  • Top 5 ticket outlet according to customer feedback (Review Centre & Trust Pilot)
  • Raised over £20,000 for charities

Development of Skiddle.com

Our R&D department spent the majority of the year working on updating Skiddle.com to create the kind of seamless, responsive mobile platform, consumers in the age of smart phones and tablets have come to expect.

Although the new website was only launched in the latter end of 2013 we’re already seeing exciting results which are delivering increased conversion rates for events listed with tickets.

Growth in big brand affiliate channels:

2013 saw a growth in the number of branded affiliate websites we’ve got on board, with event promoters selling tickets on Skiddle also having their tickets onsale on the likes of: Mixmag.net; DataTransmission.co.uk; Eventful, Allgigs, Debenhams Box Office. We’ve got a number of additional sites coming onboard in 2014 including high street/household brands. You don’t have to do anything to benefit from these channels (other than getting your tickets events listed through the Promotion Centre!).

International expansion:

In 2013 we expanded into a number of key markets offering a range of new payment options outside the UK whilst developing the website’s ability to target international consumers and event promoters. We plan to allow our international growth to happen organically but there are loads of opportunities for those of you with non-UK events so get in touch to discuss the options in more details.

Where we sit in the market:
