The most established and safest digital wallet service online, Apple Pay is now an available payment option at checkout for customers buying on the Skiddle website using the Safari browser.

What does this mean for your customers?

It means event-goers using an iPhone or iPad – can now optionally use the quick and easy-to-use Apple Pay service when purchasing their tickets via Skiddle. This reduces checkout abandonment, meaning more sales for your marketing spend.

Over 90% of our website users are using a mobile device, with the majority on Apple devices, so this new feature will be available to most customers.

What does this mean for sales?

The recent introduction of the Apple Pay service on the Skiddle website follows its launch on the Skiddle app, back in 2017. Since then, Apple Pay has been the most popular in-app payment method.

It’s important to capitalise on spur-of-the-moment sales, and providing a fast checkout experience is key to reducing friction. Skiddle’s checkout is already one of the best performing in the industry, and adding Apple Pay will further boost its success.

Please note that Apple Pay will not be available to customers looking to buy Payment Plan tickets.

What about other digital wallets and payment services?

Integrating the Apple Pay service is the first step in bringing a range of alternative digital payment options to both the Skiddle website and app. Future plans include bringing Google Pay to the web, as well as also introducing PayPal alongside. We’ll be delivering more updates on this over the coming weeks.

Ben Sebborn, the co-founder of Skiddle, said of the Apple Pay integration:

“Skiddle are always working hard to make the buying process as simple as possible for customers. We recognise that providing an industry-leading checkout benefits customers and promoters by increasing sales and reducing buying friction.”

“Apple Pay has proved to be hugely popular on our mobile app, so we’re now bringing the one-click experience to the web. With over 90% of our audience using mobile devices to buy, we’re confident this enhancement will keep Skiddle ahead as the easiest-to-use ticketing platform available.”
