We’ve worked with Belladrum Tartan Heart for a number of years now, and due to the popularity of the event, the festival sells out every year – which makes it a popular event to abuse in the secondary ticketing industry by ticket touts.

Because of this, we and Belladrum consistently face substantial challenges with tickets being resold through auction and classified websites at highly inflated prices, with many customers being ripped off due to fraudulent listings. In some cases, free child tickets were being sold for up to £100.

Keen to ensure their customers weren’t left out of pocket, Belladrum approached Skiddle for a solution, something we have been working on for a while. We built a ticket resale platform (Re:Sell) to allow the fair trade of unwanted tickets at face value. The service is provided free of charge to the customer and has massively reduced the amount of fraud being carried out.

Because we’re the official primary outlet, we can cancel and transfer tickets with complete certainty, so customers are 100% assured their ticket is genuine. We also handle refunding the original customer as soon as the ticket is sold. It’s a very popular system. Our only struggle is the demand for the resold tickets outstrips supply many, many times, so we’re now working on improving the way the tickets are made available to fans.

We’re committed to this becoming something across the majority of our events, as part of a number of steps we’re taking to make ticketing fairer for customers.
