We’ve spoken before about how vital conferences can be to music promoters, and it’s events like Birmingham’s BPM that back up our point entirely. Featuring a wealth of delegates from right across the music world, BPM is a hive of activity that showcases the latest developments in music technology, lighting and sound for DJs, technicians and promoters.

The three day exhibition, which arrives at the Genting Arena in the NEC on September 11th-13th features talks and workshops that range between breaking into the industry as a producer through to lighting tours and Q&As with established musicians. The talks in particular focus heavily on the DJing and clubbing side of things, and stretch to include how to build a record label and generally make a good fist of it in the business.

One of the major plus points is the sheer volume of internationally renowned brands that attend to show off their latest innovations. Allen & Heath, Audio Technica, Bose, DJ-Tech, Korg, Martin Audio, Ortofon, Rane, Yamaha and Pioneer are just some of the big names that draw in 9000 attendees from 18 different countries each year.

Of course another leading reason why so many people visit each year is the abundant networking opportunities, meeting and spending time with like minded individuals in the events sector that could yield mutually beneficial partnerships to send your DJing career or event brand to the next level. Read more on that here.

BPM is rounded off with plenty of live performances from DJs like Kutski, Stu Allan, Slipmatt and Sonny Wharton.
