Coming soon: ticket downloads blocked until 24hrs before event

Recently at Skiddle, we have taken the action to block ticket downloads until 24 hours before the event. This is to help to combat ticket touting and unauthorised duplication of tickets.

If customers receive their tickets as soon as they pay for them, this leaves the tickets open to being sold/exchanged on third party touting websites and potentially leaving you out of pocket with tickets sold on at extortionate prices.

This way, your customers will receive their tickets with enough notice to attend the event and minimises any suspicious touting activity. As shown below, customers will be made aware of this through their order history.

If your customers have already purchased and downloaded their ticket to their wallet or printed their ticket before this change, then their orders will not be affected and their barcode will not change. However, anyone who has not yet accessed and downloaded their ticket, the block will apply and they will only be able to download them 24hrs before the event. 

This feature will be available in the next few weeks, so please keep an eye out for this and we’ll let you know when it’s live. Don’t forget Skiddle’s Re:Sell service is available if customers change their mind or can no longer attend.
