Contributor wanted for hip-hop, r&b and grime

Are you passionate about R&B? Heartfelt about your hip-hop? Know your JME from your Tempa T? Then you could be the person we’re looking for. We’re after new contributors to write for our editorial department, predominantly focusing on three genres – grime, hip-hop and r&b.

The type of coverage we’re after would span a range of different styles. Our new writer would cover news on new releases, album reviews, current events and live reviews. And as one of our writers, you’d get free access to select live events for reviewing purposes, with reviews expected back within the week.

As well as writing about the music you love, the role would be the perfect opportunity to boost your portfolio, as well as growing in your abilities as a music journalist – we’d give you consistent help and direction in order to get the best out of your writing. We’re after people to cover killer hip-hop and R&B events, interview artists and to help us write five of the best articles (read an example here on Biggie Smalls), but also in the same way give us fresh ideas

So if you’re a university student looking to gain some valuable writing experience, a music lover looking to cover more gigs or a writer looking to flesh out their repertoire, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Email jimmy@skiddle.com, attaching any previous examples of you writing to find out more about becoming a contributor for Skiddle.
