So you’ve posted your events onto Skiddle, popped some tickets on sale. You can see 1,000s of visitors looking at your event info.
But did you know, by optimising the information you enter you can dramatically improve how many tickets you sell, by up to 200%. So what makes the difference between a visitor buying tickets for your event, or skipping on by and purchasing for another event?
We recently commissioned some user testing to see how real visitors react to different event snippets. This video is an extract from one test (this user was selected at random and was unknown to Skiddle before the test). Watch the video for their candid feedback:
Take a look at the example below. It clearly shows the event name and brand, who’s playing and the genres of music they play if you’re unfamiliar with the DJs. From a quick glance, the visitor knows quite a bit of information about this event, and is informed enough to click through and find out more, and potentially buy.
Now contrast this to the following snippet.
In comparison, unless the visitor knows what ‘After Dark’ is, they have very little information. There’s no mention of the music being played, genres, etc.
Visitors tend to require information very quickly – if they don’t find the info they need, they will move on or abandon their purchase. You have just a few seconds to grab the visitor’s attention, so make sure you follow our tips below for the best results:
- Upload a good image – some tips here
- Ensure your title is short and succinct, with your brand and perhaps mentioning the main headliner if you have one (but avoid listing your entire lineup!)
- Ensure the short description sells your event to someone who has never heard of your brand before. Give them a quick, one sentence summary of what to expect at your event.
