We’re seeing the rise of a new (but also old-school) type of event in the UK as the ‘drive-in’ craze brings forth some socially-distanced fun.

Skiddle has all the tools and means to help you list your drive-in event and promote it to the largest audience out there. Your drive-in event will appear on our dedicated city landing page and be included within our ‘Inspire Me’ article, highlighting the best drive-in events the country has to offer (we’ve had more than 2000 users hit this page in less than 24 hours).

We can also tailor promotional content, add custom questions to the checkout and send out brand alerts via our app to audiences in relevant cities.

So if you’re planning to put on a drive-in event, get in touch with our Business Development Manager, Sam (samuel@skiddle.com), who will be able to talk you through what Skiddle can do to promote your event and maximise sales.

Increase confidence with Cool:off

Cool:Off is Skiddle’s award-winning (and the event industry’s first) refund window, offering customers a 72-hour period in which to claim a refund if their circumstances change – no questions asked. Since 2016, this initiative has been hugely successful, boosting event sales by up to 22% thanks to increased customer confidence.

Now, we’re taking it one step further to encourage ticket sales during this uncertain time, by offering promoters the opportunity to extend this 72-hour window to a maximum of 28 days. This means you can push events taking place later in the year, or even those rescheduled for next year, to your customers right now, giving them the confidence that should they become ill or change their plans, they won’t be left out of pocket.

To enable Cool:off on your event and to choose its duration, simply log into your account and go to the Cool:Off settings. Or alternatively, please get in touch with your dedicated Account Manager or our Account Support team.

Box Office App

Anyone who’s been near a shop during the pandemic will have seen the huge drive for customers to pay using contactless card transactions. We fully expect this to be part of the Government guidelines for bringing events back from after lockdown.

Did you know, Skiddle has a Box Office App which allows you to take contactless cash payments at your events? This can be for ticket sales, drinks, merchandise, anything you’re selling!

Benefits of using our Box Office App include:

  • It accepts all major credit or debit cards quickly and securely using our partner iZettle.
  • Accept Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Low iZettle processing fees of 1.5% – 2.75%
  • Real time sales stats to keep track of your finances.
  • Option to collect customer data at the same time as payments.
  • Link the App to a bluetooth printer for sales receipts and entry tickets/barcodes.
  • No minimum contract, setup fee, or monthly fees.

iZettle card readers can be purchased with 50% off when you sign up for a free account. We also have kit available for renting where required.

Visit our Box Office Tour and Box Office FAQ pages for some more information, and please get in touch to discuss how the Box Office App can help you navigate event management post lockdown.

Night Time Industries Association

You can help influence future Government decisions by supporting the NTIA #saveyournightlife campaign by contacting your local MP. To get involved click here and follow the steps.

If you would like to discuss anything covered in this week’s update, please do not hesitate to contact our teams below.
