Welcome to Skiddle’s Promoter Update. In this week’s edition, we’ll be looking at Halloween, Bonfire Night and the 2022 World Cup, recapping the National Promoters Society, Skiddle’s partnership with the Night Time Industries Association. To finish, we’ll show you the latest updates on our Promotion Centre blog.
Optimize or create your Halloween listings
Halloween is upon us. It’s only a few days to go until the celebrations begin, but there is still time to create any last-minute listings for your event.
If your event listings are up and running, make some last-minute checks and optimise them for maximum reach. If you’re booking DJs or putting on gigs, tag the artists performing so people who are fans of the artist on our website can find your event.
Ensure your event descriptions are in good shape, as clear and descriptive copy will make it easier for potential attendees to get all the information. Events with all the information in the description are more likely to sell some last-minute tickets.
Comparing the stats from this Monday to Wednesday with last week, Halloween page views on the Skiddle website have seen a 56% increase. People are looking for events to attend over the weekend, so it’s a great time to list last-minute events or optimise current ones. It could be the difference between selling out your event.
Bonfire Night and the 2022 World Cup
Making way for the spooktacular costumes of Halloween are the warming bonfires and dazzling fireworks of Bonfire Night. We’re over a week away from the celebration, and promoters across the Skiddle website have listed their events.
Comparing the stats from this Monday to Wednesday with last week, Bonfire Night page views on the Skiddle website have seen a 62% increase. Like Halloween, there’s a demand for events, and there is still plenty of time to get an event listed and optimised. If you still need to do this, head to the Beta Promotion Centre and start listing your Bonfire Night event.
Fast-forward to the end of November, and the 2022 World Cup will be here. England and Wales national football teams are the only nations from the U.K. to have qualified for the World Cup, with fixtures against Iran, the USA and each other awaiting them in Group B.
World Cup Fan Zone events are already filling up the Skiddle website. Fan Zone and Fan Park events are a great way to bring people together, with live music and drink deals adding to the occasion. It’s a perfect time to get an event like this listed.
National Promoter Society
In last week’s edition of the Skiddle Update, we announced the launch of the National Promoter Society.
An exciting and vital partnership between Skiddle and the Night Time Industries Association, it will be headed up by Skiddle’s Jamie Scahill and the NTIA’s Michael Kill.
The NPS will be a central unified body, engaging government, authorities and media to give promoters the solidified support network and voice they deserve. It comes in response to business loss and displacement of talent due to the pandemic and the lack of mental health support and adequate funding that plagued the industry before the pandemic.
The music industry has long been built on passion and entrepreneurial spirit. The NPS want to protect that spirit and ensure promoters can continue to organise fantastic events.
