A new week, a new Skiddle Update. We’ve been shouting about our ‘More Than A Ticket Shop’ pop-up event for a while now, and the time is nearly here. We’ll be giving some final details ahead of next week, rounding up our time at the Night Time Economy Summit last week and, of course, putting the spotlight on some of our latest articles on the Promotion Centre blog. Sound interesting? Scroll down to discover more.

More Than A Ticket Shop – Final details

We’ve been in the business of selling tickets since 2001. So, we know a bit about what makes a great event. But we don’t just sell tickets. Culture is crucial, and we want to contribute to that.

It’s why we’re putting on the ‘More Than A Ticket Shop’ pop-up event. If you’ve had your eyes on your emails, you’ll have seen us chatting about it. But if you haven’t, here’s your primer on what it’s all about ahead of the 22nd of February.

More than a ticket shop

We’ll be taking over Bethnal Green’s Industrial Events Space from the 22nd to the 25th of February. There’ll be networking events, well-being talks, tips on running a festival, industry pointers for young people, DJ workshops and a programme of fantastic music from some of the UK’s best festivals.

If you would like to join us at our Skiddle Social on Wednesday 22nd, click here to access tickets and click ‘apply’ to unlock the ticket. There will be free beer and food! See you on Wednesday!

Night Time Economy Summit roundup

Speaking of culture and passing on knowledge, we attended the Night Time Economy Summit last week. There was a lot of information being passed on. People filled rooms and went around stalls, picking up gems and connecting with a range of event industry professionals.

Want to get the lowdown on the two days? Here are our reports from day 1 and day 2. Across the weekend we saw talks on elevating Black voices in the industry, safe spaces, safeguarding and how to fund projects.

We attended the event with promoters in mind. So, the panels we saw are the ones we felt had the most value to you. We’ve included names of speakers where we can, making it easier to reach out to the speakers if you’d like to collaborate.

Blog Spotlight

Before we leave you, have a look at one of our latest pieces on the Promotion Centre blog.

It’s titled ‘How to make your event inclusive for the LGBTQIA+ community’. In the piece, we’ve looked at some actionable ways you can create an inclusive feeling at your event.

Everyone in the events space has a responsibility to look after each other. But for some members of the queer community, there are specific challenges they can face. It’s all about making events accessible and taking away some of those challenges. Click here to read more.
