Skiddle Update: Vaccinations, Tier Reviews, Seating Allocations and More

Tuesday 8th November; the day 2020 presented us all with some good news when Margaret Keenan became the first person in the world to be given the Pfizer Covid-19 jab signalling the start of a mass vaccination programme in the UK. Since then we’ve seen an increase in ticket sales on Skiddle for upcoming events this month and into next year, so if you are thinking of listing a new event, now is the time to do so with the news of the vaccine rollout.

Tier Review in England

At Skiddle we’re eagerly awaiting Wednesday 16th December, a lot of us are promoters and run our own events so we hope that the review of the tiers will be in our favour. Particularly for those of us in Tier 3.

Are you ready if you move out of your tier after this announcement? If so, tell us your plans and remember it’s not too late to list your Christmas and NYE events with us. You can always list events in draft and make them live later.

And if you do move from Tier 3 to 2 or perhaps stay put in 2, make sure you’re aware of what possibilities are available to you within this tier. Last week we mentioned that the Government has announced new guidance that will permit the sale of alcohol without a substantial meal in some English Tier 2 settings when attending a ticketed live show. More information can be found about this here. We know that under Tier 2 your events are being hit by a reduction in capacities but hopefully this new guidance will help you financially with the sale of alcohol.

Skiddle have recently launched our new Ticket Category options, allowing you to Add On and Upsell additional products. Add Ons can be meals, drinks packages, or merchandise. This is proving a very popular option this festive season.

Introducing dynamic seating allocations

We’re pleased to announce our first feature from our upcoming new Promotion Centre. In light of the current and changing government guidelines, we’ve implemented a number of new, helpful features to ease both promoter and customer concerns around the listing of events with seated ticketing.

Customers can now pick their own seats before buying. But that’s not all! You can now set up multiple ticket prices per seat (ideal for family shows), and we now have the functionality to set rules for your event so you can leave spare seats around any booked seats for social distancing measures. Gone are the days of awkwardly taping every other chair.

Find out more about our detailed features in our latest Promotion Centre blog post here.

Our Promotion Centre blog is always where we put any service updates as well as this email, so don’t forget to hit subscribe to receive updates as and when they happen.
